Who we are

Halverson Civil Limited was formed in the early 1990's by Clarke Halverson. Originally established as a sole trader and then as a site works contractor (Halverson Contracting Limited) the business later expanded into drilling and retaining works. In 2006, the company grew again with the acquisition of an established ground engineering company.

In 2008, Clarke's son Ryan Halverson joined HCL following the completion of his Engineering Geology and Environmental Sciences studies at the University of Canterbury. Ryan brings international piling and project management expertise from his construction experience in Australia.

Today the company is comprised of a team of experienced and qualified Project Managers, Site Engineers, Supervisors, and Construction staff who are equipped with modern, purpose-built equipment suited to our New Zealand market.

We deliver high-profile projects for infrastructure and vertical construction with a core focus on ground engineering solutions. We are involved in residential, commercial, and infrastructure works.

HCL are pioneers in the New Zealand construction industry through the introduction of continuous flight auger (CFA) piling methodologies and pile testing. We draw from engineering advances overseas to improve the outcomes of projects in our local market.

Everyday, safety is paramount. Our team is accredited in SiteSafe training, first aid and we undertake regular training and refresher courses.
